Felicitated eminent Women on International Women’s Day.

On the occasion of **International Women’s Day**, the Lions Club of Guwahati South organized a special program to celebrate and honour the achievements of women who have made significant contributions in their respective fields. As part of the celebration, the club felicitated three distinguished personalities whose work and dedication have brought pride to the region. (One Multiple One Activity Phase-II) **Smti Nilima Bora**, an acclaimed **National Award–winning writer**, was honoured for her remarkable contribution to literature. Through her powerful storytelling and thought-provoking writings, she has enriched Assamese literature and inspired countless readers across the country. Her work reflects deep social insight and artistic excellence, earning her recognition at the national level. The club also honoured **Smti Medha Saikia**, a pioneering figure in the **Northeast fashion industry**. With her creativity, innovation, and entrepreneurial spirit, she has played a crucial role in promoting fashion from the region and providing a platform for local talent. Her journey in the industry has helped showcase the rich cultural aesthetics of the Northeast while inspiring young designers and professionals to pursue their passion. The Club has also Honoured *Sangita Roychowdhury* a sociotherapist and social worker known for her unwavering dedication towards the safeguard of rights and dignity of living of differently abled children in the social circuit of northeast India through The Sishu Sarothi Organization. The felicitation of these three remarkable women served as a tribute to their dedication, achievements, and the inspiration they continue to provide to society. The event highlighted the importance of recognizing women who break barriers and contribute meaningfully to culture, creativity, and community development.
